Pool swimming returns on Friday Jan 10th @ 8pm-block of 10wks for €50. Full training timetable will be circulated over the coming days. TRAINING SCHEDULE: For anyone who is tempted to go into complete hibernation the training committee are determined to get you out and about working over the winter months. Hopefully as many members as possible will come out to the training sessions as feedback will be required to see what you want from training and what the club can do for you. Below is the list of training which is taking place at the moment:
Winter Track Sessions every Tuesday @ 7:30pm will involve some light running to keep you in shape.
Another busy wk end for the club as many members take part in Tri Athy today – good luck to all & enjoy the racing.
For the rest, club bike spin from Lanesboro Church @ 10am, and open water swim this evening down at Lanesboro harbour @ 6pm.
Reminder: Open water swim will take place on Saturday @6pm, meet at harbour on Longford side, behind the duck pond. Please arrive early to start swim @6pm.
Last pool swim session is this Friday, from 8-9pm. Bring your WETSUITS!! €10 for adults €5 children. Don’t miss it. It’s going to be a good one.

Running session continues on the lanesboro track tomorrow (Wed April 10th) at 8pm.
Dermot McDermott (Athletics Ireland) will be in attendance at 8:15pm, and will be reviewing all our 3k times aswell as providing a training programme for the coming weeks.

Lanesboro Tri Club
Reminder to all that the track running sessions continue every Wednesday @ 8pm. This replaces the strength / conditioning sessions that were previously running on Wed nights. See you there
Track running sessions shall resume on Wed Mar 13th @ 8:15 pm.
The first session shall be taken by Dermot McDermott [Athletics Ireland], who shall provide us all with some great advice & tips to improve our running over the coming months.
Please bring your running gear to Lanesboro Track and be warmed up & ready to start for 8:15.
NOTE: There shall be NO strength / core session in the Co-op Hall on Wed 13th @ 8pm.
Lanesboro Tri Club
New Tri Club Swim Sessions begin this Friday 15th in Roscommon Pool from 8-9pm and will run until April 5th (bringing us right up to TriLaois for any preping for that!).
Cost €50 up front! Anyone interested please arrive EARLY to sign up & pay, as sessions will start on time, 8pm.
These sessions proved very popular last time with great emphasis on drills & preparation for open water swimming (which we hope to start in April).
So get down to the pool early Friday evening and sign up!
All participants must be Tri Club members!
The following is the Lanesboro Triathlon Club Spring Training Schedule for 2013.
These training sessions will start Monday 7th January 2013 and will run until further notice.
There will be NO text sent to remind people unless there are changes to this schedule.
These sessions are open to all members who are paid up for 2013.
Remember you cannot train unless you have paid your TI and club membership for Insurance purposes.
Well done to all tonight at the club swim session! Great craic meeting up in the pool again! Thanks to Colm for a great session, not only focused on swimming but also lots of drills preparing us for open water & race situations, helping both those new to swimming and those experienced triathletes!

Saturday 24th November: Turbo Training with Professional Coach starting at 2:00pm, be there @ 1:45pm to set up!

“Club Swim Training Sessions” are starting next Friday night, 23rd November, in Roscommon Pool starting at 8pm. Can members please arrive early in order to be registered before hand!
It is €50 for 10 sessions. At the end of these 10 sessions a further 10 weeks will begin.
Sessions before Christmas:
23rd November, 30th November, 7th December, 14th December.
(**Please note in December only two sessions, the first two Fridays, 7th & 14th December, due to Christmas parties etc!)
These sessions will run every Friday until the last Friday in April(26th) and then we hope to begin an open water programme.
They are specifically for the improvement and development of our members’ swimming and will also include specialized coaching from visiting professional swim coaches, whose expertise will benefit all!
We hope to see a great turn out of swimmers on Friday evenings, a brilliant start to your training weekends and a nice way to get in shape for Chrimbo!!

Turbo Session with a Professional Tri Coach from Wheelworx Dublin
Calling all Lanesboro Tri Club Members!!
Do you want to learn new drills, which will benefit your cycling?
Do you want to improve your cycling and gain a better bike time?
Are you someone that hasn’t a clue what to do on the turbo?
Do you feel cycling is your weaker sport and could do with improvements but don’t know how?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, well then be at the CoOp Hall on Saturday (24th November) where the training committee will have a Professional Triathlon Coach from Wheelworx Dublin to take club members for a turbo session with a difference! (Starting @ 2:00pm be there 1:45pm for set up!)
This is a Golden Opportunity for our members to come along and train under the instruction of a Professional Triathlete, who will take you through different drills in order to improve your cycling! This session is technique based aimed at all levels from beginners to the more advanced. Members will also have the chance to ask questions and who better to answer than a pro!
And also, to add to it all, the coach has agreed to take members for a short technique based running session on the track, after the turbo session, so bring your runners!
The training committee has worked hard to organise this for the benefit of Lanesboro Tri Club members, therefore we want to see as many members as possible in attendance! Some of our Dublin branch will also be joining us on the day!
Now to the cost! It’s FREE to all Club Members!! You will be delighted to hear the club are looking after the cost so all you need to do is turn up with your bike (and turbo if you have one) and bring lots of energy and enthusiasm and of course plenty of questions!!
This really is a brilliant opportunity to improve your cycling! Do it now and enjoy the benefits next year!!
