Important notice re Aquathon

Message to all competitors in our Aquathon next week.

Dear Competitor,

Please find below important information for the race you have entered into next week.

Triathlon Ireland Members

All competitors must show their TI membership card at race registration. This card is pale purple in colour.

If you have applied for TI membership and have not yet received your membership card please contact the our office on 01 274 1032 by 1pm on Tuesday 25th June, so that we can arrange to have a card sent to you in time for the race.

If you do not have your physical membership card at registration, you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE as you will not be covered by insurance. This card is pale purple in colour.

Note: Print out of your TI membership confirmation will NOT be accepted at registration, you must have your pale purple card.

If you have any race enquiries such as race entry cancellation, refunds, registration etc, please contact the race organiser directly. For the race organisers email go to our race calendar and to the right hand side of the race name you will see an ‘i’ icon. If you hover over this you will see the race organisers email.

Please only reply to this email if your enquiry is regarding your TI Membership.

Not a Triathlon Ireland Member

All competitors must show a print out of their One Day Licence Confirmation at race registration.

If you have not yet purchased your One Day Licence, this must be done through the Triathlon Ireland website. This must be purchased by midnight the Thursday before the race.

Any competitor who cannot show their One Day Licence at registration, will not be allowed to race as they will not be covered by insurance.

Please be advised that odls can be purchased on the day of the event for aquathons and duathlons, however we do advise purchasing them prior to the event to save time at registration.

Well done to all who participated in PortRunny at the weekend. A great crew from the club headed out and braved the heat (for a change). The club returned with many trophies! Well done to Marie Sudway once again who took home two, first in her age category and a fantastic 2nd place overall! Well done also to Rachel and David who put in a superb performance in the relay and took home 1st prize. Both trophies will now take pride of place in their respective homes as, as they both explained proudly this was the first time they got a trophy since they were about 12!! Well done to you both. Watch out for this team in the future!
Big congrats also to Colm Daly who took home trophies in their age categories too.
And not forgetting those who took on their first triathlon at the weekend too. Big congrats. Hope you’ve caught the bug and it leads you to many more races with the club.
Well done to all at the weekend!

Lough Ree Monster Sprint Triathlon / Sat June 8th in Portrunny

Reminder to all that the Athlone Triathlon Club are running their Annual Sprint Triathlon on Sat next June 8th in Portrunny.

This is a great race and just a short commute over for all, so we should have a large turnout from the club.

Sprint race distances – 750M swim in Lough Ree followed by 20K bike and 5K run

For those new to swimming and wanting to gain some experience of open water swimming there shall also be a Try-a-Tri consisting of a 200M swim, 20K bike and 5K run

Club Race: Longford Tri Club’s Lord of the Dring

This year our club race will be Longford Tri Club’s inaugural triathlon, Lord of the Dring. We would like to see as many members as possible signed up to this race, in order for the club competition to be a successful and for us all to have a bit of fun. Audi Athlone Kidathon! Enter soon to avoid disappointment!

Lanesboro Triathlon Club are delighted to announce they are now taking entries for the Audi Athlone Kidathon 2013. This mini-triathlon will be held on Saturday 13^th July @ 9:30am (race brief @ 9:15) and will consist of a 100m swim, 2km cycle and 1km run. The race is open to children from 8-15 years of age and costs €10. It promises to be a fun-filled day with goodie bags, medals and treats for all who take part! . The 2013 race promises to be even more exciting than last year kids’ triathlon, but be warned – the race will be capped at 75 entrants to ensure maximum safety for all junior swimmers in the open water- so book now to avoid disappointment. Keenagh 5& 10k Road Race Sun 19th May

Keenagh GAA are holding a 5&10k road race next Sunday 19th May. Local race on our doorstep. AAI registered. There is also a family walk. Registration is from 11am at the community centre and races start @12. Best of luck!
